Scope & Objectives

With the rapid development and extended application of information technology, digitization has now become an important way to preserve, reproduce, disseminate and apply information in many fields. While continuously accumulating abundant digitized resources, it is also necessary to consider how large scale of digital data can facilitate knowledge creation.
The ever-changing technological development of digitization not only made it possible to aggregate information on a large scale but also enabled interoperability and connection between diversified digital objects and levels of related metadata. Furthermore, new ways of cross- and inter-disciplinary reasoning and comparative analysis are encouraged with the incorporated term frequency of associated persons, places, and time. Now our inquiry lies on what new horizon can be brought to humanities and social studies due to the accumulation of massive digitized information and interdisciplinary connection? Can all these opportunities help researchers create new topics and innovative methods in their studies?
This conference aims to enhance communication of humanities research and information technology. With the integration of IT and domain knowledge, we look forward to exploring further development on Digital Humanities.
